A very authentic way to appreciate Yuacatán´s rich history is to stay in an Hacienda. Dating from the 17th century, the Haciendas were passed on from generation to generation. Built upon the vast profits amassed from the production of sisal, a fibre that became known as "green gold", the Haciendas give a glimpse of an opulent and privileged past.
Today, these intimate and historic Haciendas, located in the middle of the Mayan archeological zones, have been restored to exquisite period detail.
